Micromixing in a gas–liquid vortex reactor

نویسندگان

چکیده

The gas–liquid vortex reactor (GLVR) has substantial process intensification potential for multiphase processes. Essential in this respect is the micromixing efficiency, which of great importance fast reaction systems such as crystallization, polymerization, and synthesis nanomaterials. By creating a flow taking advantage centrifugal force field, liquid can be intensified GLVR. Results show that introducing into gas-only unit results suppression primary secondary gas flow. Villermaux–Dushman protocol applied to study effects rate, viscosity based on segregation index. Based incorporation model kinetics, time GLVR determined range 10−4 ~ 10−3 s, comparable highly efficient rotating packed bed substantially better than static mixer.

Micromixing in a Rotor–Stator Spinning Disc Reactor

This paper presents the micromixing times in a rotor-stator spinning disc reactor. Segregation indices are obtained at different rotational speeds performing the Villermaux-Dushman parallel-competitive reaction scheme. Consequently, the corresponding micromixing times are calculated using the engulfment model, while considering the self-engulfment effect. It was found that the segregation index...

A Tubular Reactor of Axial Dispersion and Micromixing

In this paper, we extend the MURM (Modified Universe Reaction Model) of a CSTR to a tubular reactor with axial dispersion. Furthermore, we use this mixing model to study the effort of the micromixing on the steady state multiplicity for an autocatalytical reaction of tubular reactor.

Micromixing within microfluidic devices.

Micromixing is a crucial process within microfluidic systems such as micro total analysis systems (μTAS). A state-of-art review on microstructured mixing devices and their mixing phenomena is given. The review first presents an overview of the characteristics of fluidic behavior at the microscale and their implications in microfluidic mixing processes. According to the two basic principles expl...

Quantitative characterization of micromixing simulation.

Micromixers with floor-grooved microfluidic channels have been successfully demonstrated in experiment. In this work, we numerically simulated the mixing within the devices and used the obtained concentration versus channel length profiles to quantitatively characterize the process. It was found that the concentration at any given cross-section location of the microfluidic channel periodically ...

Radial pressure profiles in a cold‐flow gas‐solid vortex reactor

A unique normalized radial pressure profile characterizes the bed of a gas-solid vortex reactor over a range of particle densities and sizes, solid capacities, and gas flow rates: 950-1240 kg/m3, 1-2 mm, 2 kg to maximum solids capacity, and 0.4-0.8 Nm3/s (corresponding to gas injection velocities of 55-110 m/s), respectively. The combined momentum conservation equations of both gas and solid ph...
